WHAT'S THE MORTGAGE MARKET LIKE RIGHT NOW ??
  • As you'd expect, the underwriting standards are a little more stringent now than in the last few years, but mortgage rates are still low and mortgage money is readily available. Lenders have to document a lot more details so be prepared to provide bank statements, 401k account info, loan information and other items common for approval. In todays world, a pre-approval is only as good as the information you've provided, in other words it's all still conditional right up to the last minute before closing, so don't omit, forget or evade ANY financial info. It could blow your deal!
WHEN SHOULD I BUY ??
  • Markets and prices go up and down, and there's no shortage of advice or ad-hoc experts out there to tell you when the best time to buy is. Quite simply, it's a good time to buy when you know in your heart you can really afford to. Good deals come along everyday, so don't cripple yourself financially just because somebody on TV said it's a buyers market. Do it when it feels right!
